Different creams, cortisone, antibiotics and the dreaded diet changes. Maybe you’ve even tried cutting out dairy and gluten, struggling to find things your child will eat in the process. And yet… their eczema is still there. Or it improves for a little while, and then flares up again without any obvious reason.

It’s exhausting and confusing, especially when you do ALL the things you’ve been told to by your doctor and paediatrician and nothing works.

I’m here to share with you the good news, that there is another way! Traditionally eczema has been looked at as a skin issue, and treated topically with creams, ointments and bleach baths. And while these can help manage symptoms for a time, they don’t address the underlying drivers. This is because eczema is usually not about the skin, and it isn’t a topical issue. It is an internal issue reflecting on the skin.

Eczema and the Gut connection
One of the biggest pieces I see missing in traditional eczema treatment is gut health. The gut and immune system are so closely connected, and the skin is often where this imbalance will show up in children. A big driver of this is microbiome imbalance. Our microbiome is the community of bacteria and fungi that live inside of us, and play a huge roll in immunity, inflammation and digestion. When the microbiome becomes imbalanced that is when we see increased food sensitivities, skin flare ups that are hard to settle, and ongoing inflammation in the body.

With microbiome imbalances, certain bacteria may be overgrown, while beneficial ones are lacking. This can then lead to the immune system being on high alert, responding more strongly than it needs to. Food can also trigger symptoms, but often it’s not the root cause. Instead, it’s usually a sign the gut needs support and that there is an underlying low level of inflammation present. Even if the skin looks calmer for a time, the underlying inflammation can still be there.

Why Removing More and More Foods Doesn’t Always Work
In clinic I see this a lot. Mums are doing their absolute best to help their child’s eczema, and end up cutting out more foods in the hope of finding the culprit. But the list of no foods keeps growing and things still aren’t improving long-term. This comes down to the gut. If it isn’t being supported the body continues reacting, and this is even to healthy foods.
That’s why a more targeted, supportive approach tends to work better than food restriction alone.

Microbiome Testing for children’s eczema
This is where deeper investigation can be really helpful. A complete microbiome Map test looks at the composition of your microbiome, how the body is digesting foods, inflammatory markers, the health of the gut lining and so much more. It helps us to understand what your child’s body is actually dealing with internally. This is the test, don’t guess approach, which gives us test results and a clear path forward based on those results.

What Healing Often Looks Like
When we support the body properly, things shift in a sustainable way. This looks like a slow and steady improvement in eczema flare ups, less intense reactions, less and less use of steroid creams over time until you don’t need them anymore, and a more settled and resilient system. It isn’t something that happens immediately over night, but slowly and steadily, which means the body can maintain the changes.

If You’re Feeling Stuck on how to heal your child’s eczema
You haven’t missed something, you haven’t done anything wrong and you are definitely NOT alone! Most parents are never shown the full picture of eczema at their GP or Pediatrician's office. But there is always a reason your child’s body is responding this way. When we look deeper, we can understand what that reason is, and how to support your child properly.
If your child has been stuck in the eczema cycle, and you’re ready to look deeper, this is exactly what I help families work through.

Get in touch here to chat with me further,

Ally

ADHD & Your Child's Health: What Testing Can Reveal (And Why It Matters)

https://www.alysiachick.com/nourish-blog/adhd-your-childs-health-what-testing-can-reveal-and-why-it-matters

https://www.alysiachick.com/nourish-blog/adhd-your-childs-health-what-testing-can-reveal-and-why-it-matters#comments

Uncategorized

ADHD & Your Child's Health: What Testing Can Reveal (And Why It Matters)When it comes to supporting a child with ADHD, most parents are handed a pretty short list: medication, behaviour therapy, and maybe some diet advice. But what if there’s more we can look at — and what if it could make a big difference?
In my clinic, I often see children with ADHD-like symptoms who are dealing with much more than what’s on the surface. Underneath the meltdowns, the restlessness, the trouble focusing — there can be real, measurable imbalances happening in the body.
Here are two powerful tools I use to help uncover them:

1. Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA). HTMA is a simple, non-invasive test that looks at the minerals and metals in your child’s body using a small hair sample. Why is this helpful?

Low zinc or magnesium can affect concentration and mood

High copper can drive anxiety, overwhelm and hyperactivity

Heavy metals like lead, aluminium or mercury can impair brain function and worsen symptoms

These aren’t always picked up in blood tests — and yet they can have a huge effect on your child’s wellbeing.

2. Microbiome Testing. The gut and brain are deeply connected — so it makes sense that when the gut is struggling, the brain can too.
Microbiome testing helps us understand:

Whether your child has the right balance of good gut bacteria

If inflammation or leaky gut could be affecting behaviour

Hidden infections or overgrowths that contribute to symptoms like irritability, tummy pain, and poor sleep

When we bring the gut back into balance, kids often feel calmer, more settled and more in control of their emotions.

Putting the Pieces Together
There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to kids and ADHD. But when we have real data, we can:
✔️ Personalise diet and lifestyle strategies
✔️ Replenish key nutrients
✔️ Support detox pathways
✔️ Reduce the burden on the nervous system
And we can do it in a way that feels gentle, natural and supportive — not overwhelming.

Want to explore this for your child? I offer both HTMA and microbiome testing in the clinic, and I work with families to create plans that actually work in real life — even for fussy eaters and busy schedules.
The clinic is in Bendigo if you prefer in person appointments.
Online appointments are also available.
You'll find a friendly space where you and your child are always understood and welcomed.

If you're ready to look a little deeper, I’m here for you. When they’re in balance, we tend to feel clear-headed, emotionally stable, energetic, and our cycles just flow. But when they’re not... well, it can feel like everything is a bit out of whack.
Let’s take a closer look at what hormonal imbalance might look like — and how you can begin to restore harmony again.

Signs Your Hormones Might Be Out of Balance. Every woman is different, but here are some of the most common signs I see in clinic:

Mood swings, anxiety or feeling weepy for no reason

Fatigue that doesn’t lift with rest

Period pain, PMS, or irregular cycles

Heavy periods, spotting between cycles, or very light bleeds

Breast tenderness or bloating before your period

Trouble sleeping, especially in the second half of your cycle

Weight gain (especially around the middle) or fluid retention

Low libido or feeling emotionally flat

Breakouts or skin changes around your period

It’s not just about your period — it’s your whole month that can be impacted when hormones aren’t in sync.

What’s Really Going On? Your hormones are part of a finely tuned orchestra. Oestrogen, progesterone, cortisol, insulin and thyroid hormones all influence each other — so when one is out, the others usually follow. And while you can throw supplements at the symptoms, true healing comes from understanding the why. That’s where pathology testing and a personalised approach makes a world of difference.

How I Can Help. As a naturopath, I look at your whole picture — not just your period. Together we explore your symptoms, your stress levels, your sleep, your gut health and even your emotional wellbeing.
We test your hormones to get a clear picture of what's going on, and then I’ll create a realistic, holistic plan tailored to you. That might include food and lifestyle tweaks, herbal and nutritional medicines, guidance around rest, stress support, and gentle but powerful tools to help your body rebalance.

What Women Say After Working With Me
"I didn’t realise how much my hormones were affecting everything. After just a few weeks, I felt calmer, I was sleeping better, and my period showed up without all the usual drama."
– Angela S
"I feel like I’ve got myself back again."
– Kristy B

You Don’t Have to Just Push Through. If your hormones are making life harder than it needs to be, that’s a sign your body is asking for support — and you deserve to feel good again. I offer warm, practical, evidence-based care for women at every life stage. Whether you're post-baby, perimenopausal or just feeling 'off' — I’d love to help you get back to balance.

In person appointments are Available Thursdays in Bendigo, or online when it suits.
💳 Afterpay available. An added bonus is that it does the same for my kids, and they love their smoothies too!

However it's not always easy to start or continue a new habit, so I have some tips for you today in making your smoothie game strong!

Step 1. Pick a delicious smoothie recipe that sings to you. I love to put berries in mine, but maybe you love mango, or maybe you prefer a vegetable based smoothie.
Step 2. Get enough ingredients to make at least 4 of these smoothies, and portion them out into 4 bowls or piles (not the liquid portion)
Step 3. Get 4 zip lock bags. Place each pile of smoothie goodness into a zip lock bag. Label it, and write a note on the bag with what liquid to add to the blender when you make the smoothie, and how much
Step 4. Place these bags in your freezer. Make sure that you haven't added any liquid base at this stage.
Step 5. When you are ready to make your smoothie, grab a bag from the freezer, pop the contents into your blender, and add your chosen liquid.

This method of making up 'smoothie bags' really makes it so easy to get your daily smoothie fix without much effort at all. You can make up bags of different smoothies at the same time, so you have options in your freezer too. This is a perfect hack if you are very busy in the mornings, and it makes your smoothie a really super fast food.

When I do this myself, I usually do 1 cup of berries, 1 banana, a big handful of baby spinach, a scoop or two of seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, chia etc) and a dash of vanilla essence of powder. I'll pop all of this in a zip lock bag and put it in the freezer. On the day i'm making that smoothie I'll add 500ml oat or almond milk, and some yogurt if I feel like it. This will make enough for 2 adults, or 1 for me and 2 smaller ones for my girls.
When we had our first baby I made up a bunch of these for the freezer, and after our baby arrived it made it super simple for my husband to make us smoothies!

Let me know if you try this hack, and what you put in your smoothie bags?

I hope you love it,

Ally xx

My number 1 tip for improving your energy & managing your stress!

https://www.alysiachick.com/nourish-blog/my-number-1-tip-for-improving-your-energy-managing-your-stress

https://www.alysiachick.com/nourish-blog/my-number-1-tip-for-improving-your-energy-managing-your-stress#comments

Uncategorized

In our modern society, the major contributing factor to ill health and disease is a little (or large) thing called stress! Our amazing nervous system has a lot of strain put on it due to the way we live our lives today, from daily caffeine consumption to constant screen time and the ever present feeling of urgency. This can leave us feeling like we are always on alert, or feeling 'wired but tired'.

Some signs that can signal your nervous system needs support include:

Always feeling 'on'

Sugar cravings

Shallow breathing

Poor sleep and waking unrefreshed

Anxious or worried often

Having the feeling that you don't have enough hours in your days

We have definitely all been here at some point, and may even be feeling these symptoms right now! My number one health tip has to do with activating your parasympathetic nervous system, which is the portion that controls our ability to rest, digest, slow down and come back to equilibrium. The only way that science knows how to do this is through your breathe, which is simple yet life changing and profound. So my top health tip for you is:

Learn how to breathe properly, deeply and slowly.

FUN FACT
Re-learning how to breathe with your diaphragm actually helps you lose weight! This is because it switches on your bodies ability to burn fat as fuel via your nervous system.

So how do you breathe properly?

Find a nice quiet spot and gently place your hands on your belly button. Take a long and slow inhale through your nostrils, and notice your hands moving outward as your lungs expand and move your diaphragm. Its good to imagine that you are inflating a balloon each time you inhale.
Pause, and then let out your breathe in a slow exhale through your nostrils, observing as your belly shrinks back in towards your spine.
Pause again, and then begin to slowly inhale and expand your belly as you did before.
Repeat this process 10 times, using deep slow breathes in and out each time.

Your nervous system will thank you tremendously, especially if you make this practice a part of your daily routine. It's a great one to do when you get into bed at night, as it really helps prepare you for a delicious and peaceful nights sleep. You can also use this breathing technique anytime you feel tense or stressed during your day.

Happy breathing,

Love Ally xx

Warming winter drinks for health and wellbeing.

https://www.alysiachick.com/nourish-blog/warming-winter-drinks-for-health-and-wellbeing

https://www.alysiachick.com/nourish-blog/warming-winter-drinks-for-health-and-wellbeing#comments

Uncategorized

Are you a hot chocolate or latte fan? Whilst I am one to thoroughly enjoy my daily coffee, I know that if I have any more than 1 a day I wind up stressed, tired and not getting any benefit from it. If you are one to buy your coffee out at a cafe it also comes with a full cup of milk, which adds calories to your day and stress on your digestive system. So instead of doing this I've been choosing some beautiful blends that have wonderful healing herbs and ingredients that support my energy, immunity and overall wellbeing. If you like the sound of any of the below blends, you can purchase them via my online dispensary.

Ovvio organics No.24 Cinnamon ginger soul
Ovvio organic teas are healing blends with therapeutic effects, not your run of the mill herbal tea at all.
This tea is made with real cinnamon and ginger pieces, and makes a deliciously warming, sweet and nourishing cuppa any time of the day. It's wonderful for any type of inflammation and pain, or just to warm up your soul in winter. I really love this blend.

Ovvio Organics No.30 C citrus Strength
This herbal tea has been designed to strengthen both your immunity and your mind, and has the following delicious ingredients: Rosehip, orange, licorice root, elderberry, elderflower, blackcurrant. I love to mix it with the Cinnamon ginger soul tea for a really satisfying, warming and strength infusing drink.

Cacao Bliss Chocolate drink by Morlife
This gorgeous blend contains functional ingredients such as cacao, maca, siberian ginseng and lemon balm, which make it a wonderful relaxing and nervous system supporting brew. Chocolatey, warming and delicious. If you are a hot chocolate fan, try this blend for a nutrient rich hot choccie with a difference.

Morlife Tumeric Latte, spiced vanilla
This warming cup of joy has tumeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper and vanilla. It is a really warming blend, perfect for infusing antioxidants and anti.inflammatory nutrients into your cells in the cold months. It can be really easy to feel like you have to be everything for everyone else, so much so that you end up not having any time to take care of yourself. I'm here to tell you that your own self care has to come before that of anyone else, and here is why:

If we are living from an empty cup because we've given our all to everyone else, then we are not being our best selves. We simply can't be. In order to give our best, and be more of who we want to be, we MUST practice self care every day. It truly is a requirement, not a luxury or a reward. The key to doing this as a mum of tiny people is to practice small acts of care and kindness to yourself, rather than expecting to fit in a 30 minute meditation by yourself.

I'm going to share with you some ways in which I practice self care as a mum of 2 little girls who are 1 and 3 years old. It's not always easy, but I know that it is essential in order for me NOT to become overwhelmed, grumpy and exhausted. These practices will really help you too!

Supplement: I'm a breastfeeding mum, and breastfeeding takes more out of you than pregnancy. It's the time in your life when it's essential to take good quality supplements in order to meet both you and your babies needs. Part of my self care at the moment is to make sure that I take my supplements every single day. It helps so much with my energy and moods.
Get in touch with me If you would like a recommendation for some good quality and safe supplements.

Get outside: Now this one is just as good for my kids as it is for me! They adore being outside, and as soon as the air hits my skin and my feet hit the earth I feel it too. A sense of being grounded, calmed, held. Just getting out in the backyard is enough, but a walk to your local park or lake is fabulous too.
We all need to get outside more for our health; science is now showing us that it helps with everything from helping your moods, to getting a better nights sleep.

Breathe: Deep belly breathing allows you to instantly put your nervous system into rest and repair mode, and ground yourself back into your body. As mum's its so easy to be all up in our heads, thinking, worrying, ticking off our to do lists. Coming back down to ourselves is just a beautiful way to reconnect to who we are as women. I practice 10 deep belly breathes whenever I think of it throughout my day. It's also a lovely thing to do when you get into bed at night, as it helps to prepare you for a good nights sleep.

Diffuse essential oils: This has been a game changer for me. You can instantly change the mood in your home and the feeling in your body with essential oils. There is some wonderful science behind this phenomena, but i won't share that here suffice to say that our sense of scent is a very powerful one. I use, recommend and sell the doTerra brand of essential oils, and this is because they had such a profound effect on my mental health and moods that I simply had to share them with anyone who is interested. They are gold. As a bonus, I have a couple of blends that I use when the kids are tantrumming or not cooperating, and they create wondrous changes in their moods too!
If you want to know more please get in touch.

Eat Nourishing food: Hah that sounds obvious I know, but I can't tell you how many mum's i've seen in my clinic who say that they don't have time to feed themselves. Here are my go to ways to ensure that you get fed alongside your kids, and mumma's this is so so important. Essentially its just being pre prepared, here's what I mean:

Breakfast: Make a smoothie the night before and have it ready to go in the fridge. Or soak some oats overnight and enjoy a bowl of homemade porridge alongside your kids in the morning. Other good options are to make a chia pudding or a bircher muesli at night, and everyone can enjoy it in the morning without any cooking on your part.

Lunch: Save left overs from dinner the night before for your lunch. You can quickly reheat these whilst you get the kids lunch ready. If all else fails, a quick and somewhat nourishing option is to make some toast and top it with thick avocado and tomato slices and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. You could add cottage cheese for some extra protein too, or some salmon or tuna.

Snacks: Cut up some fruit and vegetables on the weekend, so that during the week you can just grab and go. You can do the same with muffins or a muesli slice, make a batch on the weekend and have portions ready to go for yourself and the kids during the week. I've been guilty of grabbing a whole carrot and snacking on that alongside some hommus or cheese, whatever works for you is key here!

Practice a nourishing night time routine: This is a part of your day that is just for you, when everyone else is sleeping (hopefully!!). I know this doesn't always happen, but when it does take advantage of that time!
I use my beautiful essential oils as part of my night time skincare and self love routine. Having gorgeous products that are chemical free, good for you, smell divine and invite feelings of relaxation and self worth is a really delicious way to indulge in me time.
Rose, Geranium and Yarrow Pom are all part of my nightly regime, which is really interesting because Rose is the oil of love, Geranium is a supercharged relaxation hero, and yarrow pom is possibly the best night time serum you could ever buy.
Other things I like to do as part of my nightly self care routine include enjoying a cup of relaxing herbal tea, journal writing or meditation, stretching my body and trying to make sure I get off my phone and technology 1 hour before I go to bed. I'm not so great at that last one, but I"m working on it!

It's really just about finding the little things that you can incorporate into your day, that help you feel cared for and grounded within yourself. Those things are different for everyone, and so I just urge you to start thinking about the things that you love, and how you can add them into your lifestyle in and around your children. Add in one thing each week and see how much better you feel knowing that your needs are being taken care of too.

Love Ally xx

Essential Oils for baby/toddler coughs

https://www.alysiachick.com/nourish-blog/essential-oils-for-babytoddler-coughs

https://www.alysiachick.com/nourish-blog/essential-oils-for-babytoddler-coughs#comments

Babies

doTerra

Essential oils

Immunity

Our little girl is 21 months old, and its definitely been a nasty winter for daycare bugs for just about everyone we know. As a Naturopath and a conscious mama, I try to keep her immune system as healthy as possible with nourishing food and natural supplements such as vitamin C, cod liver oil, Echinacea and probiotics. Whilst this definitely helps with the duration and severity of colds and coughs, it doesn't mean that she doesn't ever get sick. At the moment she has a rattly chesty cough, and a couple of nights ago it was keeping her awake. She coughed so much that eventually she vomitted all over our bed sheets, which is never fun for anyone involved. I'd already given her some herbal cough syrup and rubbed cough balm on her feet and chest, but this particular night it didn't seem to help much at all. This is where essential oils come in, and saved both our freshly clean bedsheets and our sleep.

I popped my essential oil diffuser right next to the bed, and in it I put 4 drops of easy air (Breathe Easy blend) and 2 drops of Lavender essential oil. I kid you not, our little one stopped coughing straight away and slept for the entire night through. This meant that we slept all night too, hallelujah!

There are other beautiful oils that work wonderfully for respiratory distress too, including frankincense, On Guard, eucalyptus, peppermint, thyme, myrrh, lemon and ginger. I'm just sharing what worked for us this particular night (and the following night too). Like all natural medicines, it's trial an error to find exactly what works for each individual.

Apart from using these oils in a diffuser, you can also apply them topically or take them in the form of throat drops etc. IT's very important to dilute the oils when applying topically, especially for babies and children. The correct dilution for babies is 1 drop of essential oil to 1 tbsp carrier oil, and for older toddlers and children you can use 2 drops of essential oil in 1 tbsp carrier oil. If you are putting the oils into a bath, always use a bath gel to disperse the oil in the water and just use 1 drop for babies, or 2 drops for older toddlers.

So onto the specific oils that we used, and how they help with congestion and coughs:

Easy Air
This oil is a blend of Laurel Leaf, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Lemon, Ravensara and Cardamom essential oils. This blend of plants allows the oil to work on sinus congestion, throat blockage from mucous and congestion in the lungs, which is why its so potent and works so well. Some specific properties that the plants in this oil blend have include being antibacterial, antiseptic, antifungal and expectorant (which means that it brings up mucous and relieves the congestion).

Lavender
Whilst pure lavender oil is well known for its ability to relax and unwind the body and mind, it also has some surprising immune benefits. It is antibacterial, antiseptic and antispasmodic, aiding the relief of muscle spasms in the body.

Using the oils in a diffuser allows them to be directly enhaled into the respiratory system, where the plants work their medicinal magic. Honestly I can say they are pure magic too!

For more information about the oils you can visit my doTerra site here: https://www.mydoterra.com/alysiachick/#/ or as always you can send me a message via my contacts tab.

Love Ally xx

Health gluten free muffins and an update!

https://www.alysiachick.com/nourish-blog/health-gluten-free-muffins-and-an-update

https://www.alysiachick.com/nourish-blog/health-gluten-free-muffins-and-an-update#comments

Uncategorized

As promised I have a delicious muffin recipe coming up for you guys :) These are lip smackingly good, and the recipe is courtesy of Jude Blereau from her book titled 'Wholefood Baking'. She's recently had her 1st birthday, can you believe it? It's been a wonderful year with her, and our family has grown and learnt so much in the process. Second to this I have been running Wholesome Chick on the low key. It's been tough for me to focus on the business when most of my energy and attention has been with our little girl and home, and I send out a really heart felt Thankyou to those of you who have remained loyal to our business and to your own health too. Now we've hit Christmas season 2016 and there is a renewed sense of purpose and enthusiasm for the new year, and I'm pumped to serve you in new and exciting ways!

With this new year we are changing our focus from traditional and intensive consultations, to a focus on keeping things simple and streamlined for you. The point of this is to keep wellness achievable for you, the client, whilst educating you on how to achieve and maintain your health. Too often we are given healthcare plans and advice that seems well and good, but it's actually really hard to implement and becomes overwhelming really easily. So we are cutting through that overwhelm, giving you manageable and actionable steps, and cheering you on to achieve your best selves yet! We are also offering appointments via skype, which means you don't have to get a babysitter and you can have your appointment from the comfort of your own home. I'm also planning to do some educational videos and online learning for you, which is super exciting and a bit scary too. Stretching out of the comfort zone is where growth lies though :) I hope to get this started in the next 1 to 2 months, and will keep you updated on the when and wheres of it all.

Onto the muffins -

Ingredients:

2 cups flour - gluten free (spelt flour works really well if you are not gluten free)

2 1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 cup milk of choice

1/2 cup buttermilk or yogurt

100gm unsalted butter

1/2 cup rapadura sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

400gm fruit - weighted whole. They require large amounts of fat and protein to build body tissues and a healthy brain. Iron, Vitamins A, D, E and K are all essential for healthy neural development in the growing brain. Zinc is also necessary, and can help in fussy or picky eaters.

Important foods to have in the diet include:

Egg yolks

Meat – beef, chicken, pork, lamb

Butter/ghee/healthy oils such as olive oil and coconut oil.

Lots of fresh vegetables – 5 serves daily

2 serves of fruit daily

Yogurt

Wholegrains – brown rice, quinoa, oats, amaranth, millet, spelt

With weaned toddlers, avoid giving them processed refined carbohydrate foods, such as white bread, white rice, white pasta, biscuits, cakes and processed snacks. These foods are void of nutrients, and can set the child up for many health and wellness weaknesses if consumed regularly.

Instead, for snacks try:

Vegetable sticks with yummy dips – kids love to dip food.

Eggs with rye bread stick soldiers

Cheese lumps with carrot sticks

Tubs of yogurt with low sugar content

Stewed fruit with greek yogurt

Fresh fruit

As a parent, your attitudes towards food are generally transferred to your child. If the child is a fussy eater, it may be because either of the parents are picky eaters, or not experimenting with new flavours and textures in the childs diet. New foods need to be offered on up to 10 different occasions. If they child won’t take the food initially, keep trying until the food is accepted.

Ways to improve your childs eating habits:

Have the children help with preparing meals. Having them involved makes the experience more exciting, and they feel a bit more independent and a part of things.

Eat meals together as a family.

Try to make the food tasty (not boring). Do this by adding herbs and spices to meals.

Reduce treats throughout the day, including in the lunch box. Offer up whole food snacks and meals instead.

Keep meals to a small portion size, in order to teach the child from an early age how much we need to eat.

Keep their main source of liquid to WATER. This is very important, as dehydration can be mistaken as hunger, and many other drinks offer a lot of sugar and no real hydration properties.

Some wonderful cookbooks for nourishing your little ones:

Supercharged food for kids by Lee Holmes

Nourishing Kids ebook

Nourishing traditions cookbook by Sally Fallon

Wholefood for Kids by Jude Blereau

If you'd like some further information on this wonderful topic please let me know in the comments :)

Love Ally
