ABOUT | ALYSIA CHICK

A Family-Centered Approach to Natural Health Care.

Hi, I'm Ally :)

I’m a naturopath, mum and lifelong believer in the difference that thoughtful, practical changes can make.

Since 2012, I’ve supported children, women and families who are tired of guessing, overwhelmed by conflicting advice, or simply unsure where to begin.

My role is to listen carefully, help make sense of what is happening and create a clear plan that fits real family life. Because health support should not leave you feeling even more overwhelmed.

A little more about me

Outside the clinic, I am a mum of two and understand the reality of feeding a family, managing busy weeks and trying to care for your own health while caring for everyone else.

I love wholefood cooking, learning, writing and creating practical resources that make healthy family life feel less complicated.

I am not interested in perfection.

I am interested in helping people make changes that are achievable, meaningful and sustainable.

I want you to feel heard

—not rushed

Many of the families who come to see me have already spent months, and sometimes years, trying to work things out.

They may have changed foods, bought supplements, searched online late at night or been told that everything looks normal—even though they know something still is not right.

Perhaps your child is struggling with eczema, digestive discomfort, constipation, food reactions, frequent illness, sleep difficulties or changes in mood and behaviour.

Perhaps you are the one who feels exhausted, overwhelmed, hormonally out of balance or unlike yourself.

Wherever you are starting from, you will have the space to tell the whole story.

I take the time to understand your symptoms, health history, nutrition, lifestyle and the patterns that may be connecting everything together. From there, we work out what matters most and what the next step should be.

You don’t need another overwhelming plan. You need support that makes sense for your real life.

Why I focus on children and mums

As a mum myself, I understand how much headspace family health can take up.

When your child is uncomfortable, not sleeping, reacting to foods or constantly becoming unwell, it can be difficult to think about anything else. You can find yourself carrying the worry, researching every possibility and wondering whether you are doing enough.

At the same time, mums are often the last people to receive care themselves. You may be running on coffee, skipping meals, feeling exhausted or navigating changing hormones while continuing to hold everything together for everyone else.

This is why my practice supports both children and mums.

Family health does not happen in isolation. The food available at home, family routines, stress, sleep, time, energy and the mental load all matter. Your plan needs to work within that reality.

My approach

I do not believe in handing every client the same diet, supplement list or generic wellness plan.

Your care is personalised to you or your child and may include nutrition, herbal medicine, nutritional supplements, lifestyle support and further investigation where appropriate.

I prefer to begin with the foundations and focus on the changes most likely to make a meaningful difference. You will not be expected to overhaul your entire life overnight or follow a plan that only works in a perfect household.

Small changes, applied consistently, can be powerful.

Where deeper investigation would be useful, I follow a test, don’t guess philosophy.

Functional and pathology testing may help us identify factors contributing to ongoing symptoms, such as gut imbalances, inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, low iron, thyroid changes or hormonal and metabolic patterns.

Testing is not always necessary, and I do not recommend it simply for the sake of doing more. We use it when the results are likely to give us useful information and guide more informed, targeted decisions.

You don’t need a diagnosis or a big life crisis to start this work. You just need a willingness to begin.

Gut health is often part of the picture

The gut has connections with digestion, skin, immunity, energy, mood and nutrient absorption, which is why it is an important part of much of my work.

But I do not look at the gut in isolation.

We also consider nutrition, nervous-system health, sleep, hormones, environment, family routines and the other factors that may be influencing how you or your child feels.

My job is to connect the dots without reducing everything to a single cause.

Qualifications and experience

I hold a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy and have been practising since 2012.

I am a professional member of the Australian Natural Therapists Association and continue to undertake further education across naturopathy, gut health, children’s health, nutrition, hormones and functional testing.

Over the years, I have supported hundreds of clients with concerns involving digestion, skin, immunity, energy, nutrition, thyroid health, iron, hormones and family wellbeing.

But qualifications are only one part of good care.

Listening, curiosity, compassion and creating plans that people can realistically follow are just as important.

What it is like to work with me

My approach is warm, thorough and practical.

I will explain what I am seeing in language you can understand, rather than leaving you with confusing terminology or a complicated plan.

Together, we will:

look at the whole picture;

decide what needs attention first;

use testing where it is genuinely helpful;

create realistic food and lifestyle changes;

choose supplements or herbal support carefully;

review progress and adjust the plan as needed.

You do not need to arrive knowing which test to order, which supplements to take or what kind of appointment you need.

That is what I am here to help you work out.

What Clients Say About Working With Me.

Alysia has been absolutely amazing for our family. She has helped both my now 5‑year‑old and 2‑year‑old so much, especially with reducing how often they were getting sick. We’ve seen such a big improvement in their overall health and wellbeing. She is caring, knowledgeable, and truly listens. I’m so grateful for the support she has given us.

Teisha

Myself , my husband and our 4 kids have been going to Alysia for the last 11y! We have received help with everything from heavy metal detox, to postpartum care, mental health, boosting energy and so much more! Alysia is a very caring and experienced naturopath! We highly recommend her to everyone!

Sofhie

I have two young girls under 5 with eczema and we are so grateful we found Ally! I never leave google reviews but we went from our eldest struggling with wakes every night scratching and crying, covered virtually head to toe and only just getting by with steroids and endless ointments during the day to only having a few small patches we manage when flares slightly. The change for her and our quality of life has been huge. I was lost what else we could do and it felt like a life sentence. Ally was great at taking an evidence informed approach with testing and then tailoring her treatment plan. She also listened when my girl expressed her supplements were yucky and found some that she gets excited and reminds me to take instead of it being a struggle to have her take them. Ally is a lovely person and provides quality service.
